Finally jumping on some of the body work on the truck. I have to get my used replacement fenders prepped and painted. Then installed. I cut open the back side inner fender so as to treat it prior to it rusting thru. Beings they rust from the inside out due to the lack of drainage and air flow. I figure a bit of POR on the back side should do the trick. Then, just using the plastic inner that covers up everything, there should be no drainage issues as well as some added air-flow. I'll try to remember to get some pics and post them. Then it's onto the rest of the body. The passenger side took a real beating this winter. Lower doors, cab corner and rocker. Driver rocker and lower doors, as well as the rear wheel well. Thinking about possibly loosing the bed for a custom one.....but we'll see. I like the stock bed The rear bumper is pretty much toast....that will get a custom one for sure.... I still have to throw new gaskets at my replacement motor I picked up last fall with only 38k miles on it. That should refresh the power a bit! By the time I'm done, I'll have a new truck

this is the cancerous cab corner, and this is my hand formed replacement. Cut, fit, weld, paint...move on to next spot It doesn't really pay to make them, other than the fact that I use 18 gauge. It takes a little to much time compared to the stamping you buy normally, but to save a couple bucks and keep the skills improving, I mostly just enjoy doing it.

Here is the rear door lower. I meant to get more pics, but forgot. I made the outer and welded it in. The cab corner is going to take removing the bed, so I jumped to the door for now. More to come!

here's my front fenders I finally got sprayed and installed. These were a really nice set of factory originals that had not rusted thru. I cut away a lot of the fender apron so as to treat and undercoat the inside of these, which also helps to clean and recoat as needed to deter the rust in the future.
