Has anyone heard about the meteor that is coming pretty much right at the earth. So far it is said to miss the earth by about 2000 miles......which isn't much in the grand scheme of things.
It supposed to hopefully pass by around febuary sometime. It's 250 ft across, or so I hear, but seeing is deffinitely is believing, and it would seem to me that it would be much bigger.
You can see it in the Eastern sky after dark, of course. It is moving from one night to the next, and it looks like one really bright star......it's brighter than the north star by far.
Last night it was buy Orions belt.......the night before it was by the little dipper. Check it out

The worst part is that it hasn't been clear enough to pick it out since I posted it, and I'm not too sure that it is still in view of our hemisphere.

That's deffinitely it as far as the feb., 13 passing goes, but that leads me to believe that what I was seeing in the sky, was something else entirely.
This one would be moving too fast to view it the way I was. It was deffinitely slow moving or traveling in near alignment with earth. It changed relation in the sky by a good distance from night to night, but it wasn't visibly moving across the sky. After a 1/2 hr you could see it moved.
I think their's another one out there.........

That one makes me think, that it's the one I was seeing for a few days. 3 miles across would be substantially bigger than 250ft. That's pretty cool acctually.
Thanks for finding all the info Brian. I deffinitely haven't had much time lately to get much of anything done.

Hope all is well and you're recovering. How long you going to be off? I'm sure Steph and Erin are taking good care of you.

That's like 3 months of light duty and another 3 of physical therapy......roughly I think? I know a few people that have had the same thing done.
Hope the healing process is quick for you Brian.

Neil, pretty close. one month at home, then light duty for three months. Physical Therapy has already started, just trying to get range of motion back for now. Did go out around 9 pm the other night but we had broken clouds and it was about 20 degrees and we didn't see any meteors....
