I didn't know if I wanted to run the rear support on the back straight, but it's going to work great for a spare tire mount for those far out places that kinda require carring a spare.

Neil, are you talking about the straight middle bar on your CJ? I like the thrird seat, reminds of what Savage did with his so his daughter had a place to ride...not being a welder, how do you build the cage inside of the Jeep, looking at Dave's internal roll cage and there is not a single burn mark inside the Jeep, but you had to do some welding inside?

The rear half of the cage I made so I could first tack it in the jeep and then get it out for welding all in one piece. The front portion actually had to be welded completely in place which is not fun at all. Burns are stopped by cardboard and a hand cupped over the weld area.
I should have clarified the straight middle bar,but yeah, the one that supports the rear most portion of the added roof. I thought it would have looked a little better being pitched forward but then there was a loss of head room for the third seat and no real good place to mount a spare other than the roof.

Been working on the Cj some more.I'll have to post some pics when I get some, but I've added some more cage work, along with setting up some tube doors(although there not designed to function as a door, but more of a removeable cage extension for when I want to run my doors). There definitely coming out nice.

Finally got some time to myself today...sort of. After 12:00 pm anyway. After our last RC trip I noticed that I broke my steering box brackets,so I'm upgrading to full hydo steer. After about 2.5 hrs. of driving around I finally found a guy with an old Komatsu forklift with a Char-Lynn steering valve. He finally quoted me $50,but said I had to yank it.10 mins. later it was in the bed of my truck.Sure beats $400. I already have a cylinder,so getting hoses made along with drilling the restrictor plate in the PS pump,is pretty much all thats left, along with the normal nickle and dime things. I'll try to post a record of everything for the do-it yourselfers. I finally had time to finish my other tube door and get them on,although their not really doors....more like a summer cage extension. I made them easy enough to climb over and in. I also did a little air-brushing on the hood for kicks,so here's some picks. It was dark already,so excuse the poor pics.

Gonna have that hydro steering and Joe's rear bumper done in time for the May 10-11th RC trip?

The Hydro will be done in a couple days..... that I can actually work on it. Having to be in Vermont from Monday to Thursday for work definitely isn't going to help.
I did make up the custom column for the hydro valve,so now all I have to do is mount it in the frame and conect the steering shaft.Everything else is ripped out now,so all I have to do is mount the cylinder and modify the pump, and she'll be good to go.
I'm not sure when Joey is getting the SHOCKER back to me,but I also have to get a cage into another YJ,so I'm deffinitely going to be busy!!!
