I forgot to post up the final results and test run on the hydro steering. Easiest thing to say is that it works great. Switching to the 2" bore cylinder made all the difference. It's now about 4 turns from lock to lock.
I do need to add a little more resevoir to the system, and also a fan to the cooler, because when I was working it hard, making the fluid hot it would fade slightly, but this was also on a idle in near verticle positions, which was more than likely starving the pump.Otherwise I never noticed anything. Deffinitely happy with the whole thing, and all for about $400,with shipping on the items I had to order. More money was in the hoses, than anything.
I'll try to do a price breakdown and list of items needed for anyone else.
Also,Full Hydraulic Steering is NOT legal for street use, this is OFF_ROAD only.

Finally replaced my broken front leaves with new BDS military wrapped leaves. 2.5" lift springs. They definitely feel quite a bit stiffer, but hopefully they will soften up over time. it kept the stance nice with a slight front-end rake.

I'm glad to say that the new front BDS springs worked great. First time out they were flexing like my old ones. They settled a little but kep't their shape. I may end up getting a pair for the rear. Deffinitely grade A springs. I also set up a custom HEI box that I built,to do away with the old computer and ignition module.WOW,what a difference. I must of gained 20 HP,I can rev her up and torque the whole body Now. I'll post a couple pics soon. I'm not changing anything drastic, just starting to nit-pick,clean up the looks a little,do away with anything that isn't needed. Upgrading things that DO need it hopefully.

Sweet. I am thinking about some RE 4" springs but I can't complain about the 3.5" black diamond ones either. I just want more room like anyone else I guess. I put boomerang shackles on and I am thinking about a 1" body lift w/TJ flares. So, we'll see. Definitely post pics.

Good stuff, Neil! Was talking to a guy the other day about swapping out the carb and distributor on his CJ7. The HEI setups work really well! Have you trimmed all the un-necessary wiring out of the harness yet? You can lose at least 2/3 of hte wiring under the hood aith only having to splice or cut two or three wires.

one pig tail is left that reaches from the cab "through" harness over the vaccum booster, and then just a couple wires from there.

Cleans up under the hood so much!! Carb and HEI setup should be in by tomorrow. Finally something to do there other than sit behind hte counter and twiddle my thumbs!

Allright, after all was said and done, the firewall looks about the same, but the motor looks alot cleaner.
Setting up my HEI was a pain, because like I said,it is a custom. So I didn't swap the distributor or anything like that,I basically assembled my own ignition module. Well a long story short,is that when I pre tested everything,it ran great........but after wrapping everything up,it had issues. So after a few hours of tweeking and pin-pointing little issues,it's working awesome.
I even wired in an elctronic voltage regulator for my alternator, which until now, never really liked giving me more than about 12.8V,but now is a steady 14v.
I also mounted my catch can higher,so hopefully it will help keep the rad full,it never pulled the water back up from the can during cool down.
swapped my thermostat for a 180, which cools things down nicely, and swapped my airfilter for a higher profile one.
Now if I could just stop my exhaust manifold to downpipe leak. It doesn't look like it's going to happen to well this time. MINOR
Couple more little things to go,and I will probably be looking for more things to tweek.

I have to acctually take some pictures this time, but I just got finished up on quite a bit of jeep tweak.
I gutted everything in front of the dash(heater box, blower, vent tubes,wiring,......everything),including the dash. Then came out the windsheild. After pulling the windsheild,I saw that the bottom was rusting out pretty bad,so I took a YJ windsheild and fixed the minor issues with that, reglued the windsheild and got it ready to install.
Having the window out I finally got my windsheild struts welded in on the exo. From there was swapping in a YJ dash, splicing the harness and all the fun stuff that goes along with acctually making it work. After all of my modifications to it,it's in and looks great.
I finally bought a HEI from summit, and installed a 1-wire conversion on my alternator, which kicks it up to 100+ amps and single wire. Way better than the 61 amps it was. Now it can acctually handle my two electric fans and the rest of the electrical needs.
Like I said,I have to snap some pics and post them, maybe later today.

I threw in a few pics of my rear anti-wrap design that I ran for the last year or so. Works very well. It doesn't stop it 100%,but it's 95%. I'm still debating on eventually doing a link, but it works so well as a whole as it is that I can't bring myself to change it that drastically yet. We'll see what the future brings. I can't really leave well enough alone for too long. The next thing on the list is making bead-locks up. Just the outers though. Then I'm thinking about going to the 42" sx once I find out a price and availability. Alot of listings for them, but no one close seems to be able to get them. Looking at selling the 38.5s for 800 plus a new tsl spare when the time comes hopefully this summer. Let me know if any of you may be intrested. Their about 75% tread if not more,I'd have to measure them.

Pricing should be around $450/ea in 15/42-15 size, part number SX-220, provided my computer is right. Availability is the question. That would require a call to Interco, my supplier doesn't have any.
YJ dash looks nice, Neil, now you just need the square headlights to match it! ;D
