Here's a little tid bit of info for anyone fighting with their front brakes on a dana 60 up to late 80's.
It's common to run into a brake fade while driving, usually after changing out the front calipers for rebuild.
The issue arises from original wear on the caliper, that is then sandblasted, stripped, etched, or whatever, before being rebuilt.
The fix is acctually very simple......You have to add a shim under the wedge retainer that you drive in with the spring clip to retain the caliper.
It should take quite a bit of force to fit it, and the caliper should not be able to be moved,or rocked by hand.
This acctually works quite nice. The problem originates with the added play allowing the caliper to drop down on an angle, that then pushes the piston back, just enough to require a double pump of the pedal to lift the caliper and seat it into position.
So if your tired of bleeding, and bleeding, and bleeding........you get the idea, with no air ever coming out, and no resolve.
TRY THIS. IT WORKS!
