Brian, do you know anything about Cascadia tents or who are the good quality tents you recommend other than Eezi-Awn? www.cascadiatents.com

From what I can tell, Cascadia buys their tents from China. I emailed them a while back and asked that question, but never received a reply...the good tents come from South Africa and the fabric in India...I know it sounds odd, but they have been doing it for decades and get it right. The other companies to look at would be Hannible www.hannibal.co.za/default.asp?pageid=537 and Tepui www.tepuitents.com/ The only USA made tent I have found is the M.O.A.B., compactcampingconcepts.com/index.htm but having seen it in person and both the Eezi Awn and Tepui, both are superior...and if you look at the other tents that Compact Camping Concepts sell and look at the ones from Cascadia and Sierra, they are all the same and according to Martyn at AT, all made in China. So all the Australia and South African companies use Eezi Awn, Tepui or Hannibal...as does AT, but the other US trailer companies are using the ones made in China...hope this helps....AT has stuck with Eezi Awn because they have had zero defects or issue with any of their tents...the one I am looking into in the large 71" x 96" which folds up to 71"x48"x12" and will fit on my trailer easily.

Hey Brian, been doing a little more research/planning on the trailer build and came across this thread. Thought you might be interested. www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/97636-Torsion-axle-Anybody-use-oneWondering if you know anything about the military going to Dexter axles for their trailers. I've about decided on air bags for mine if for no other reason than the "adjustability" of them. Although I have been thinking about how I might fix one in a what if situation of a popped bag.

Some of the new air bags come with the bump stop inside them, so in a worst case you could release the air on the other one and allow it to ride the bumpstops till you could fix it ;D
Or install air shocks as a back-up. You could just air up the shock to fill in for the broken air bag.

www.schuttindustries.com/Consumer.aspxHere is another company, Schutt makes most of the trailers we use in the military today and they just shipped some to a unit on post that are kinda sorta like the ones on the web link above...interesting that they claim their torsion bar (the kind with the rubber bands inside) are good for 20 years with zero maintaince...that is a lot better than what I read on the other companies website.

Yeah, they are up the road a bit and I have seen a few around town...nothing fancy and I already have the trailer, just trying to make it better...I think I am leaning more towards the Timbren set up for the axle, just need the shoulder to get a little stronger and the weather to warm up so I can start tackling some of these projects...
