A.K.A. Barney, as is evident by it's paint color. Picked this up over the summer for $800, have about $1700 in it, total. Runs, drives, makes howling bearing noises, gobbles fuel, and oil, and I love it. ;D Here's the hard specs: 5.2L Magnum Auto trans 4WD Reg cab, short bed 3.55 gears Had it out in some light snow over the weekend and the 4WD definitely works, always a good thing. The t-case had a hole in it, it has American Racing Outlaw II wheels with good General 265/75R15s, and there was a good 12"x12" rust hole in the floor, and moldy mouse poop in the carpet when I bought it. Fixed the floor, replaced the front brakes (calipers, rotors, pads), an axle seal, ball joints on one side, and the t-case with a used one, and put it on the road. Original grille was cracked/broken, so it's been replaced with nice setup from an '86. The angle of the seatback sucks donkey balls, so I'm exploring the options in later trucks in the junkyards. Yeah, it's posted elsewhere, but this is where it belongs and that thread was pretty small.

Oh, I've put over 1,000 miles on it, so far. It's great for the basics, but I wouldn't dare tow with it, just yet. I try to drive it once a week, and the last tank saw over 300 miles, indicating double digit mileage, which is a pleasant surprise. This is a tired old truck with 185K+ on it, after all.

Nice! Love those old Rams. Having a pickup is invaluable as a homeowner. Hows the frame?

I would say it is pretty decent. The older dodge frames hardly ever rotted out. Unlike the chevy and fords of that era.

Yup, frame looks great on it. Overall, aside form the floor, it's really not too bad. Rocker's could use some love, and some bubbly over the wheel arches, but it is what it is, which is a usable truck! And, yes, it has certainly proven to be a great addition to the fleet. There is over 185K on it, so I try not to be too critical of it.

Filled this beast up for the first time, last week. Had to hang up the nozzle and swipe the card again to finish. I'm just happy it stayed under $100. Should last for a while and give me a true indicator of actual MPG. Oh, it was close to empty, put about 27 gal in it's 30 gal tank to the tune of $95.

Andy,if there are any parts your looking for, for the dodge. Let me know. I'm looking to unload my old one. The scrap yard has an open invite, but there are alot of good parts, I'll probably list some stuff before just scraping, but then again, probably not.
I have a an old Lund visor on it, no lights in it. All it needs is purple paint! $25

Well, the old Dodge goes away tomorrow. Someone came up and started chatting about it and had to have it, so have it they will. This will get me back on the level and pay off the BMW which will free up more $$ for other projects. Plan is to finish the car I traded the Jeep for, sell that, be down to two vehicles, and hopefully pick up another Jeep. I really miss mine!

It's about time you came up with a plan involving a jeep again!

It's about time you came up with a plan involving a jeep again! Yeah, I've even started trolling CL looking at what's out there to start from.
