So the Colorado House passed four bills today...1. Banning all magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. 2. Banning weapons on college campuses. 3. Increasing the requirements on back ground checks (read a new tax on firearms purchase to pay for them) and 4. Banning private sales of fire arms.
So what are your States up too? So here is my issue with this, first I think the 1, 2 and 4 violate the 2nd Amendment. As for back ground checks. Colorado already has these and there is no Gun Show loop hole here in Colorado...and the new law still won't keep a weapon out of the hands of a mentally unstable person if that person has not already committed a crime or for instance is a Honorably Discharged Disabled Veteran who happens to have a diagnosis of PTSD, TBI of some other behavioral health diagnosis that happens to be public information when the other 98% of US Citizens has this information protected...oh and try to buy a 10 round magazine for an AR somewhere...never mind any ammo for one!

I agree Brian. Their only keeping the''honest person'', honest. These laws have nothing to do with keeping guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them. I would say that if they really wanted to do something worth while, they would take the guns and violence off the tv,out of the video games, and come up with a real rating system that is enforced within the movie buisness. Your never going to be able to stop the way someone protects their weapons, or not, which may allow them to be taken hold of by someone who shouldn't have them, but you sure could curve the likelihood of it by not giving the idea out that problems are solved by killing or hurting other people so readily. As far as the constitution goes,I don't think elected officials really care one way or the other. Their thinking is " it worked then, but it doesn't really apply now". It's like 90+ percent of churches these days. They teach from the bible, from God's own word and then nulify that word by saying it doesn't apply now, because that was then and we know better now. Anyone notice the declining morales of the people in the US alone. My point is, if they won't follow the Bible, they won't follow a constitution that I believe was written with God. One Nation under God............... in God we trust.............when it doesn't effect what we really want? ?? From the wicked, comes wickedness, so why should the honest be able to protect themselves too.

THEY TOTALLY BANNED ALL PRIVATE SALES?? Un freeking real. I think Kentucky passed a bill saying they will NOT enforce federal bans. The do-gooders are already trying to say it's, of all things, UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

So far nothing has changed here in AR. I've written my representatives on the matter and have gotten responses stating they would vote against any type of ban. I don't trust Mark Pryor though, he'll probably vote for it. What I don't understand is how anyone can possible think these restrictions are going to solve anything? It's stupid. MS

It just helps keep honest people honest. The people that ignored gun laws before will continue to ignore them. Our elected officials continue to dictate what is best for the public In the name of th 'greater good' (aka their re-election platform). I may be too young to remember his presidency, but one of my favorite Ronald Reagan quotes is, "The nine scariest words in the English language are 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."'
