Congratulations on deciding to join the ranks of Ultimate Jeep Forum (UJF).
UJF is primarily a resource for people with a deep appreciation for Jeep© vehicles to interact, share stories, provide advice, and socialize. Please respect them and just as you do on the trail, please tread lightly as you are a guest here. Please take a moment to read the following.
Registration to UJF is free; however we do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. Please be advised that reading this message is in your best interest and your posting habits on UJF will easily be an indicator of if you have read it. Failure to read and comply will result in you being banned from this forum.
You are encouraged to spend the first 30 days or so lurking and reading to get the feeling for things and lay of the land before you start posting.
Do not ask the same question which has been asked repeatedly before. The best way to do that is to read, and use the "Search" key. Remember, the "Search" key is not just pretty to look at, but functional as well. It is your friend, embrace it. It will save you considerable difficulty. Use it before you ask a question or post a comment. It is highly annoying to be asked the same question which was just answered yesterday on another thread, for the third time in a week.
Please keep parallel threads to a minimum. If there is already a thread dedicated to Pink YJs, please don't start a thread dedicated to Rose YJs. For that matter, please refrain from hijacking someone elses thread and going off on unrelated tangents. If Ault asks for advice on how to change a flat tire, he probably doesn't need to hear "This one time, I saw a guy changing a tire on the way to grandmas, and she made an awesome meatloaf dinner, but she used ground turkey. Does anyone else like ground turkey in meatloaf?" Get the point?
Do not denigrate or attack other members despite what you may think of them. Do not take it upon yourself to chastise others, let the Admins & Moderators do that. If you have an issue with someone, bring it to the attention of an Admin or Modertor. Exercise good manners, respect, and judgment. The person that you offend and alienate on UJF may be the one you meet on the trail who is holding the spare widget that you need to make it back to camp.
During your visits to UJF you may unintentionally step on toes. Be the bigger man (or woman), apologize quickly, and stop digging when you realize that you are in a hole that you cannot winch out of. This said, have a thick skin. Often the members of this forum will innocently poke fun at each other. Take this in stride, don’t take it personally. If you own a YJ, Liberty, or Compass, you subscribed yourself to ridicule when you bought the vehicle.
If you become known as a supporter and a good contributor, you will have much more tolerance and latitude than if you start your time on UJF looking for trouble, asking asinine questions and agitating. If your question or comment looks like it may be stupid or immature, it probably is. If you are seen by others here as immature, whether you are 16 or 60, you will not last long. If your Jeeping experience is confined to mall parking lots and adding chrome accessories, you might want to keep your opinions to yourself.
If you choose to email or Private Message (PM) an Admin or Moderator with a question, please make sure that it is a good one. The other members here all have lives, families, and jobs of their own to keep up with. If you want information, do some research. Only email an Admin or Moderator with a question if you have exhausted all other sources and absolutely cannot find the answer anywhere else.
Do not solicit business or offer commercial items for sale without the explicit approval of the officers in any area of UJF other than the Classifieds. Please refer to the separate rules located in the Classifieds section for further information. ultimatejeep.proboards101.com/index.cgi?board=classifieds&action=display&thread=1174261577
Note that this board is open to public viewing. Do not post names, addresses, and personal data on the boards. You never know who you might be passing info to. If you feel compelled to pass along Ault’s personal email address, please post it as such, “ault AT jeepforum DOT com”. This will help prevent unwanted spamming of forum members.
Although the Admins & Moderators of UJF will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the Admins and/or Moderators nor members of UJF will be held responsible for the content of any message. Do not post any messages that are politically, racially, or ethnically offensive, obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or which otherwise violate any laws or policies. Your stay here will be short. Sadly, users have been banned from the forum recently. There are no exceptions to this rule; it applies to Admins, Moderators, and members equally. If you see a posting which truly offends you, please bring it to the attention of the Moderator responsible for that specific category as soon as possible. The best way to do this is to copy the shortcut to the specific posting, and send it in a PM. We ask that you address the issue at the Moderator first. If it is not resolved within a few days, please raise the issue to Admin level.
The Admins & Moderators of UJF have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason as well as ban or restrict any user. This is not an idle threat and applies to members of all levels.
Thank you for your time, now dive in and do your part to help make this the premier Jeep forum on the web.
