I guess your Dad isn't overly busy at the shop?
You going to keep your rack over the tub in the back, or are you done with that? I liked that, thought it worked out really nice.

I'm also assuming there's some sort of frame tie-in setup for this? Seems a shame to do all this just have it tear out of the body tub, or the body off the frame in a hard roll. Not that it happens regularly, but it's a possibility.
And I agree with Neil, that rear rack was a great setup!

Yeah the shop is pretty dead. Sucks. Just about everywhere in town is.
I thought about the rack but I think its gettin scrapped, maybe I'll come up with something else eventually. It's wider than the C pillars so I always had to load it in from the top on an angle, not possible now. Also since the floor in the rear is raised for the gas tank relocation it'll be a little tight getting access to stuff on the floor from the tailgate.
Frame tie in is in the works, just getting the cage in there, then getting the tie in on there when I can get it on a lift. I hate welding laying on the floor.

I've been hearing the same thing from most of my outside sales reps at my work. I guess this is one time working at a "buy here, pay here" type of place with a crazy warranty offering has its advantages. We're busier than a one armed paper hanger. And it sucks about the rack, that was a neat feature. It's a shame it didn't work as well as you wanted. And I agree, I absolutely hate welding over my head on the floor!

Jeep needs a little TLC before the next RC trip. Warranty my broken Yukon shafts, new joints on the front track bar, new transmission, new chain in the t case. I better get to work.

Trans doesn't like to stay in first gear. Picked up a trans on craigslist with 23k miles on it.

I was just thinking that AX-15s are cheap and easy enough to find until I remembered yours has the 6spd. I haven't really heard, but how do the 6 spds hold up in comparison to the 5 spds?
